For many Christians living in the Middle East, making a pilgrimage to Jerusalem is politically impossible or physically dangerous due to ongoing conflict and strict border controls. To bring the Holy Land to the faithful, a coalition of tech-savvy clergy and developers has created an immersive Virtual Reality experience of the Via Dolorosa.
Using widely available VR headsets, believers in Beirut or Baghdad can virtually walk the ancient streets of Jerusalem, praying the Stations of the Cross in 360-degree, high-definition video. This project is a poignant example of how technology can bypass physical borders and political blockades, offering a profound spiritual pilgrimage to those living in the shadow of war.
